Center Blocks on Winter Cabins Quilt are quilted

I have finished quilting all 16 of the center blocks on the Winter Cabins quilt. It took only one month and two days to complete that part. I had allotted 2 months to quilt those! So, with that part finished so quickly, I have put it aside briefly so I can start some spring cleaning. I'm sure I'll be ready to get back to work on the quilt in a week or so. I just need a few days to jump start the cleaning that desperately needs to be done.  It will last well into summer, but getting started is the key. Spring has finally arrived and I'm going to take advantage of these gorgeous days while I'm in the mood.

Below are a few of the pictures I got after I took it off the quilting hoop last week. I hope you can see the beautiful heart wreath pattern I quilted onto it. Of course, our cat had to help model it. She's such a ham.

Once the quilt is back on the hoop, I will quilt the seams of those 16 center blocks - just in the ditch. So that shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks. Then I should be able to finish the houses and borders in a couple of months or less. I haven't decided on a quilt pattern for the houses, but I'll use a heart vine pattern to quilt the borders. Should be cute with the heart wreath design I quilted onto those center squares.

Have a nice day!
