Why So Many Names?

Many of you know we go by more names than just Sew Practical. There is a perfectly good explanation for that, and I want to demystify that for you on this page.

Let's start with Sew Practical. That was the name my husband and I chose for the first website we opened in 2005. At the time, I was sewing more than anything else, so that made sense. I use the Sew Practical blog to make most of our crafty announcements from, whether it's about Sew Practical, eCraft Classes or Mom and Pop Craft.

The opportunity to buy the website, eCraft Classes, came along in January 2011. However, due to the lack of interest in the instructors to produce new classes as well as people freely offering craft videos on YouTube and their blogs, I had to close the site down in 2015. However, I kept the ECC blog as a way to offer my own free tutorials. I will also show progress updates of my crafts and often provide helpful tips that I discover as I work on each project.

Shortly after buying ECC, I started sewing items for a lady in Colorado. We decided to use Etsy as our means for selling the finished products to her. The name, Sew Practical, was already in use on Etsy, so I decided to use a name that would work with all of my crafts. Thus, Mom and Pop Craft was born.

I hope this clears up any confusion you may have been experiencing. We appreciate your stopping by our blog today.
